You bet it's pie! It seems there should be more to this story however. What am I missing?

Edward

Ed: I have no idea - maybe a few brain cells? (It is one story that is short and not all that difficult to absorb. Here's the premise: guy does good deed for neighbors - and the kindness is returned. Simple enough?)

I loved the pie story as much as you enjoyed writing it. The photo is attractive - was that something original that you took? Love the black ground.

I do trust all the ideas you've presented for your post. They are very convincing -especially the older one about WJR radio. Still, the posts are very brief for novices. May be you could consider lengthening them a bit going forward - with more links to source material? Thank you for the post - the pie story is cute. So how do you like plowing snow?
Rich

RW: thanks for the note - love plowing snow but this past season we had but a fraction of the average annual snowfall we've enjoyed in past winters.

Jesus Christ there is lots of spammy feedback on this website. Have you ever before thought about attempting to remove them or installing a plugin?

NPHM: Nope - not something I've ever pondered, but thanks for your 'spammy note'. [Note: the email address and Web link to software NPHM is selling has been intentionally deleted.]

What a great read. And, while it's hard for a "McCarthy" to stay objective, at this point, I'd be a liar if I said, "WJR has really done well since my dad died in 1995" My mother kept that station on for 11 years 24/7 after my dad passed, one day I was visiting her and I said, "can we please turn this garbage off?" And she replied, "You know, I never really thought about changing this station as it has been on in this house 24/7 for 42 years" And, I just turned the channel to NPR. And she's never turned back. Radio could still be a great medium to entertain and have great theatre of the mind, but anytime you get big, corporations with agendas that are strictly financial and don't take risks, they ultimately become vanilla, or worse, sour vanilla. I've hosted many video podcasts on that stations website that they never promoted, and frankly, it's probably the most interesting content they've had in years. Sounds arrogant, not the case, but it's not hard to be more interesting than Rush, or some of the other syndicated garbage. I can't comment on the local guys as that means I'd have to identify which ones are ok and which ones are NOT. And, I assume no one really cares at this point.

Perhaps, someday, the next generation of good thinkers and intelligent minds will takes the airwaves. Until then, I have years of my dad's interviews on my ipod to listen to and learn.

Jamie: thanks for writing - I value your opinion. (Let me know, too, if you want your email and web addresses hidden.)

Sounds like a Hallmark network made-for-TV movie script...seriously. Goodness is reward with kindness - followed by tragedy. All we're lacking now is some positive ending. (Hallmark shows just about always leave the viewer satisfied in some way.) I'll let you know if I come up with anything. Like maybe we could be co-authors?
Kathie

KCL: hmmmm, love the sound of it. Which of us goes on the promo-tour just before the show is aired? You know: Jimmy Fallon, Ellen DeGeneres...

Where exactly is the facebook like button?

ZZ: see responses to similar questions above. So far I have resisted the obsession over social media - things in cyberworld change rapidly...if Facebook sticks I may have to evolve but something tells me the popularilty will fade. Just ask the folks at AOL, or MySpace. Here today, gone tomorrow. SmartPhones and billions of apps will likely prevail but ..... zzzzzz.

Mike: thanks for the links back to your store - just visited for the 1st time last week after my treatment at Genesys and trust me when I say we will be back. Love your focus on community and Made In USA merchandise. Your wife was absolutely delightful and most helpful. Happy holidays to all at J.J. Cardinal's. (PS: we disagree with your politics but you do have a way with words.)

FC: you are kind to share these comments - thank you.

Did you notice Sean Hannity is on a 2-week vacation......just days after trashing Michelle and Barack Obama for their holiday trip to Hawai'i?
Glenn

GD: yeah, I did. It's just one of many hypocritical comments Sean the jerk makes daily when he's on the air. (Other topics include use of teleprompters, class-warfare, liberal media, and respect for the Constitution.) Hannity vaca-replacement/Fill-in Mark Samone is no better - heard him last week totally disparaging some caller who had the audacity to question/comment on one of his many outrageous comments. Samone had the production staff replay audio soundbites of crying North Korean women (after death of Kim Jong-il). Shameless ridicule.
